NC AI to Showcase the Future of Game AI at Tokyo Game Show 2025

Korean Multimodal AI Company Makes Its First Appearance on the Global Gaming Stage

NC AI, one of Korea’s leading developers of multimodal artificial intelligence technology, is set to make its debut at the Tokyo Game Show, marking the first time a Korean AI company has formally entered the internationally renowned exhibition. The event will take place in Japan from September 25 to 28, drawing developers, publishers, and creators from around the world.

At the show, NC AI plans to spotlight its VARCO AI series, a suite of technologies designed to dramatically accelerate and streamline the game development pipeline. Powered by the company’s in-house VARCO LLM and its newly announced world-class visual language model, the VARCO AI lineup combines text, image, audio, and 3D processing capabilities to deliver tailored AI engines across industries including gaming, fashion, and media. Within the gaming sector in particular, NC AI has drawn global attention for solutions that offer tangible production efficiency and creative flexibility.

The centerpiece of the showcase will be VARCO 3D, a generative system capable of producing complete 3D models from simple text or image prompts. The tool creates meshes and textures simultaneously, supports automatic remeshing and texture editing, and integrates seamlessly with rigging and animation workflows. A process that once took artists several weeks can now be completed in under ten minutes, a development that has far-reaching implications not only for game asset production but for VR and AR environments as well.

Another highlight, VARCO SyncFace, uses voice input alone to generate real-time lip-sync, facial expressions, and emotional nuance. Built on a multimodal framework and supporting Korean, English, and Japanese, the system maps vocal cues to natural emotional flows, enabling the creation of highly expressive digital characters without intensive manual animation. Its versatility makes it well-suited for video production, animation, and virtual human applications across the global content industry.

NC AI will also demonstrate VARCO Sound, a generative audio technology that produces background music, sound effects, and character voices from text or images. By enabling rapid creation of unique, hard-to-find audio elements, the system goes beyond the limitations of conventional sound libraries. Its search and variation features allow developers to generate unlimited creative options, from indie teams to AAA studios.

The technologies presented at the Tokyo Game Show were developed through the Generative AI Leading Talent Nurturing Program, supported by Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation. Insights gathered from the exhibition will inform future educational materials designed to cultivate domestic AI talent.

NC AI notes that its growing suite of multimodal AI engines has been optimized specifically for the needs of game production. Through its participation in the Tokyo Game Show, the company aims to deepen partnerships with Japanese indie studios, academic institutions focused on game development, and major international publishers, while advancing joint research and commercial applications.

The company sees the event as a step toward redefining how AI powers creativity in the global entertainment industry.

“Game AI is no longer a supplementary tool,” said Soojin Lim, Chief Business Officer at NC AI. “It is becoming a collaborative partner that helps creators turn new imagination into reality. With the VARCO AI series, our goal is to provide developers worldwide with more innovative and efficient production environments and to play a central role in shaping the future of the global game industry.”
